Dance Slow Decades is coming to the stage at Pacific University. Written by Kailea Saplan ’15 and inspired by the letters of Cheron (Messmer) Mayhall ’64, the play explores the lives of two Pacific University women living 50 years apart.
On Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, I was leaving my office at 6 p.m.and met one of my colleagues from the Pacific University College of Health Professions, who asked me if I have heard of the Paris attacks.
This project began in September of 2013, when Theatre Professor Ellen Margolis introduced me to Ginger Moshofsky, then in Pacific’s Office of Alumni Relations. She was inspired by the Whitman College Letters Project, which gathered original materials, like journals and letters, from their alumni and pieced them into a play.
