Clark Peters ’65, MSEd ’70 receives the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Service Award for his years of service to public education in Oregon and his ongoing support of Pacific University’s speech and education programs.

Irv Zemrau 1962

Irv Zemrau ’62, O.D. ’63 receives the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his years as an optometrist, community volunteer and advocate for people diagnosed with schizophrenia and their families.


Lynn Meredith 1944

Lynn Meredith ’44 posthumously receives the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his service in World War II and his 32 years protecting presidents in the U.S. Secret Service. He died in 2009 at the age of 84.

P.J. Pitts 2009

P.J. Pitts, Pharm.D. ’09 receives the 2012 Pacific University Young Alumni Leadership Award for her work to provide triage and long-term health care in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.

Suzanne (Wells) Mather '10 and Jonathan Mather ’09, OD ’13 welcomed son Ezra Mather on Dec. 30, 2014. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces.

Max Price '11, MAT '12 & Brandi Palmer '12

Max Price ’11, MAT ’12 and Brandi Palmer ’12 were married Nov. 22, 2014, in front of family and friends, including many Boxers. They moved to Salem, where Brandi teaches preschool and coaches middle school track and Max teaches high school and coaches baseball.

Heather Sappenfield MFA '11 published The View From Who I Was. Sappenfield lives in Colorado with her husband and teenage daughter.

Katie Sipos '12 started working for in October 2014.

Ross English OD '14

Ross English OD '14 has joined Northern Hills Eye Care in Sturgis, S.D., with Dave Prosser OD ’89 and staff. A native of the Black Hills area, he completed clinical experience in hospital-based optometry at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, at the Hot Springs VA Hospital, with Norton Sound Health Corp in Nome, Alaska, and in a family practice in Gillette, Wyo. He and his wife Alyssa enjoy all the outdoor activities the Black Hills offer.
