Clark Peters ’65, MSEd ’70 receives the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Service Award for his years of service to public education in Oregon and his ongoing support of Pacific University’s speech and education programs.

Irv Zemrau 1962

Irv Zemrau ’62, O.D. ’63 receives the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his years as an optometrist, community volunteer and advocate for people diagnosed with schizophrenia and their families.

 

Lynn Meredith 1944

 
Lynn Meredith ’44 posthumously receives the 2012 Pacific University Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his service in World War II and his 32 years protecting presidents in the U.S. Secret Service. He died in 2009 at the age of 84.

P.J. Pitts 2009

 
P.J. Pitts, Pharm.D. ’09 receives the 2012 Pacific University Young Alumni Leadership Award for her work to provide triage and long-term health care in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.

Mai-Lon Gittelsohn MFA '12

Mai-Lon Gittelsohn MFA published Chop Suey and Apple Pie, a book of memoir poems representing her life as a fourth-generation Chinese-American. A 23-year veteran teacher in the Del Mar Union School District, she teaches memoir writing to seniors through the San Dieguito Adult School. Her book was published by Finishing Line Press after she was named one of the winners of the publisher’s New Women’s Voices Chapbook Competitions.

Jason Townsend was named the 2013-2014 SeaTac Coach of the Year after completing his first season as head coach of the Tacoma (Wash.) Baptist Schools Crusaders boys’ basketball team. His overall record was 15 wins and 9 losses.
